Adam West Hug

One of the highlights of my life was getting to meet Adam West at my first-ever San Diego Comic Con. It was the same Con where my now-husband and I started dating. Mr. West and his wife were so beyond nice. He loved a Jewish Humor Calendar that I had published, and took a separate picture with it to help me promote it. We happened to find him on a random aisle, and there was no line to see him, so we got to chat with him for a while. He was everything I'd hoped he be and more. The picture we took with him has been on display in our household since we first got married. He was and always will be my favorite Batman.

This hug is for him. It's for all of us who miss him already. Below are some photos of meeting Adam West, and how his version of Batman played an important part of my wedding.

This photo has been framed and featured in my apartment from the beginning of my marriage.

Mr. West and his wife (partially captured on his right) loved my calendar, and was happy to pose with it.

At my wedding, my hubby and I were "kidnapped" by the Riddler, and were rescued by Batman & Robin.

Part of the choreographed fight scene to help "save" hubby and me from being tied up by the Riddler. The fight scene was set to the tune of the Adam West Batman theme song.

Melba Wilson Hug!

Today's the day! The fabulous famous Harlem chef Melba Wilson's cookbook comes out today! In addition to becoming a fantastic person, friend and sister to me over the last year, we have been collaborating on some exciting projects coming up. For those who love cookbooks, head to her book signing TODAY, April 12th, at the Barnes & Noble Tribeca, from 6-8 PM. Details are here! The first 100 people to sign will get a $10 gift certificate to Melba's restaurant, designed by me! =0) Here's a Melba hug, paying homage to her world-famous Chicken & Waffles dish that beat Bobby Flay in his "Throwdown!' show!

And here's a copy of the gift certificate I designed:

Be Wearing the Ides of March! New Hug O' The Day Store!

Big news! I'd been asked by the awesome guys at The TeaBook to design their inaugural line of Collect Teable Teas. The theme is authors, so here is the very first limited edition tea design, ShakeSpearmint! If you are in the LA area and would like to be a part of the largest Tea Party ever, click here for more details!

ShakeSpearmint will be a part of the giveaways for the VIP tickets to the party, but in honor of the Ides of March I'm also offering it in the form of T-shirts, prints, and other fun collectibles... I mean, collecTeables, of course. :-P So I hereby announce the opening of the Hug O' The Day Store! It's filled with some of the most popular Hugs O' The Day, and...

...I'm also offering up prints, products, and t-shirt designs of the new cover I did for Rabbi Elchanan Shoff's book, Nuggets of Torah on Esther and Purim. It was the #1 New Release for Judaism for a while on Amazon, and is still #1 New Release in Torah. The book is a limited edition so get it while it lasts! And feel free to browse the store to see if anything tickles your fancy. I have also put up some of my most popular Hugs O' The Day to purchase products, so let me know if you have any hug requests and I can make it happen!

Please note: ALL profits from the Robin Williams' hug will be donated to Parkinson's Research. My grandfather also suffered from Parkinson's for 11 years, so it's a cause that has been near and dear to me as well.

Let me know what you think! Would love your feedback!

Hugs,

~Chari =0)

Michelle Collins Hug!

Ok, I admit it. Over the years, I've become a big Bachelor fan. First it was begrudgingly as a skeptic, but I've since become a full fledged fan. It's escapism TV at its best, and I really enjoy seasons where the lead actually seems genuine. It's been a lot of fun to watch Bachelor Ben this year. The highlight for me personally is whenever I get to the very funny Michelle Collins pop up on the Bachelor Live episodes. She and I attended the ROI 120 Summit in Israel in 2009. She was hilarious, and it's been a pleasure watching someone from one of my social circles ride her talent up the chain of success, culminating in a hosting spot on The View (and of course even more importantly as a guest of Bachelor Nation). So go Michelle! This hug's for you. (And a side note to Ben Higgins, what in the world have you done? Good luck picking between the two girls you've told "I love you" to about a thousand times each! #TeamLauren)

Crazy Ex-Girlfriend Hug!

Anyone else crazy about Crazy Ex-Girlfriend? I seriously can't get over how fun and awesome the show is. This whack-a-doo show is worth a watch if you haven't given it a shot yet (and if you do, watch past the first episode to see the best cartoon theme song introduction since The Nanny. Come for the hilarious songs, stay for the unpredictable, whimsical characters. Rachel Bloom/Rebecca Bunch, you are an inspiration this Jewish cartoonista!
